ADA Seal

I have seen some weird toothpaste in dollar stores. I wouldn’t consider buying one, unless it had the ADA seal of acceptance. Of course, I don’t really buy tooth paste anyway; I appropriate it from the office.ADA_seal_rdax_215x215

The Journal of the American Dental Association, January 2013 edition explains what the seal means.  “The ADA Seal of Acceptance program is voluntary. To qualify for the Seal, manufacturers must contact the ADA’s Council on Scientific Affairs, the body that administers the Seal Program, and submit information about their products showing that they are safe and effective”.

It’s a rigorous process involving lots of scientists who evaluate everything from the list of ingredients, clinical studies, efficacy, and a lot more.

So if you are wondering if any dental product is safe and effective look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance. If you have any other questions related to dentistry give us a call. We can help you with that.
